At its core, Liqua-Roof is made of roofing granules, reinforcing your roof with the very material it's made of.
Liqua-Roof adds a high-build granule layer to your shingles, restoring lost granules and increasing overall volume. This reinforced top layer shields the inner asphalt and fiberglass layers from UV rays, moisture, and wear, stopping the chain reaction of shingle deterioration before it starts, extending your roof’s life in a single application.
At a molecular level, our formulation combines UV-resistant granules suspended in a proprietary resin blend. When applied, the resin bonds both original and new granules to form a tough yet flexible membrane that fully encapsulates and protects them. The result? Up to 90% less granule loss compared to uncoated, traditional roofing shingles.

For brittle, curled and worn-out shingles, we start with an advanced shingle rejuvenation process that helps them lay flat again. Unlike conventional soybean oil treatments that only surface penetrate and can rinse away, our proprietary tar-enhanced oil emulsion penetrates deep into shingles. It infuses fresh asphalt content, restoring essential oils and plasticizers to revive flexibility and strength. The added tar minimizes runoff—a common flaw in rejuvenators—and creates a fresh adhesive layer, mimicking the original manufacturing process. This sets the foundation for long-term flexibility and durability.
Next, we apply a high-performance, proprietary coating that seeps deep into microscopic cracks, sealing them against water and locking in the rejuvenating oils and tar. This waterproof yet breathable layer forms a strong, leak-proof barrier in preparation for granule resurfacing.
This final and truly revolutionary step involves spraying on a layer of genuine roof granules in a proprietary clear resin. This creates an ultra-strong mechanical bond that surpasses the original granule-to-asphalt adhesion. The result? Reinforced shingles with lasting protection and a fresh, updated look that resembles brand-new shingles.

Liqua-Roof’s performance is proven through third-party ASTM testing—delivering verified strength, durability, and long-term protection you can count on.

To assess granule retention, ASTM D4977 testing was performed on new asphalt shingles and those same shingles after being coated with Liqua-Roof. A strip of duct tape was firmly applied to each shingle and then removed to measure granule loss.
The uncoated shingle lost 1.26 grams of granules, while the Liqua-Roof coated shingle lost only 0.13 grams—a 90% reduction in granule loss.
Result: Liqua-Roof stops the cycle of granule loss that leads to UV exposure, shingle breakdown, and eventual roof replacement—helping extend the life of your roof from the top layer down.
Result: Liqua-Roof achieved a permeability rating of 5.64 perms, placing it in the moderate-to-high breathability range (6+ perms). This ensures effective moisture vapor release while still maintaining a protective barrier against the elements.

To evaluate impact resistance, this test measures the force required to cause damage to a coated surface from impact from a fallen weight. In testing, new, uncoated asphalt shingles demonstrated failure (deformation, cracking, etc) at 20 lbs of impact force. When coated with Liqua-Roof, those same shingles withstood 65 lbs of impact—more than 3X the resistance.
Result: Liqua-Roof significantly increases your roof’s ability to withstand hail, falling debris, and extreme weather.

To evaluate wind performance, ASTM D3161 testing was conducted by comparing uncoated asphalt shingles with identical shingles coated using the Liqua-Roof system. Both samples were subjected to controlled wind speeds reaching up to 110 mph.
The uncoated shingles began to lift and showed signs of failure after just 11 seconds of exposure. In contrast, the Liqua-Roof coated shingles remained fully intact and showed no signs of damage even after 5+ minutes under the same extreme conditions.
Result: Liqua-Roof significantly enhances wind resistance—providing critical protection in regions exposed to hurricanes, high winds, and extreme weather.

ASTM G21 evaluates a material’s resistance to fungal growth by exposing it to common fungi in a controlled, humid environment for 28 days. The surface is then examined for visible signs of mold or mildew.
Result: Liqua-Roof coated shingles remained 100% free of fungal growth—demonstrating excellent long-term resistance to mold and mildew.
ASTM D4798 simulates long-term outdoor exposure by subjecting materials to cycles of UV light, heat, and moisture in a controlled lab environment. This helps predict how a product will weather over time.
Result: Liqua-Roof coated shingles remained 100% free of fungal growth—demonstrating excellent long-term resistance to mold and mildew.
ASTM D1653 measures the permeability of roofing materials to water vapor, indicating how well moisture can escape from the underside of the roof. A higher number of "perms" means better breathability, which is important for preventing moisture buildup and potential mold growth under roofing.

ASTM standards are internationally recognized tests that measure durability, impact resistance, and weather performance. For homeowners, this means products that meet ASTM standards have been independently verified to protect your roof, last longer, and deliver the performance you’re paying for.
Liqua-Roof is strategically engineered for durability and resilience, with a finish that looks as good as it performs.

Formulated with real roof granules, our topcoat replaces lost granules and adds more for unmatched strength.

3X more impact resistance than uncoated shingles, allowing shingles to remain fully in-tact in the face of extreme weather and fallen debris.

Our proprietary resin fully envelopes and “glues” both roof granules and the actual shingle in place, preventing shingles from lifting in winds as high as 110mph.

Granules are coated with a UV-blocking resin to reduce heat absorption, prevent fading, warping and all forms of shingle deformation.

Dries to a waterproof finish that blocks water infiltration while allowing moisture to escape.

Real roofing granules deliver a textured, natural finish an authentic appearance that looks like new shingles.

No. Liqua-Roof exceeds ASTM D6803 standards for roof coating adhesion by over 200%—bonding at more than 5 pounds, well above the required minimum. But just for added peace of mind for our customers, all projects are backed with a 15-year no-peel warranty.
It’s all about the granules. Asphalt shingles are composed of multiple layers—fiberglass for structure, asphalt for flexibility and waterproofing, and a topmost layer of granules that provides the true protection against sun, wind, and water. When those granules erode over time, your roof begins to break down. The asphalt underneath gets exposed, leading to curling, cracking, and eventual failure. What makes Liqua-Roof unlike any roof treatment or coating on the market is that we don’t just preserve what’s left—we rebuild it. Our resurfacing system adds a new, high-build granule layer directly onto your existing shingles, increasing their protective barrier beyond even what you’d get with brand-new shingles—including those rated Class-4 for impact resistance. That’s what makes Liqua-Roof a true upgrade, not just maintenance.
Compared to basic oil rejuvenators, nanoparticle or advanced resin-based formulas penetrate a little deeper into the shingle, so they are slightly less likely to run off and therefore, should last a little longer. While these treatments replenish lost oils to delay cracking, even they fall short of addressing the root issue: granule loss. In the end, they’re still buying you time, not solving the problem. Liqua-Roof, on the other hand, actively replaces and reinforces that protective layer by bonding additional granules to the roof’s surface. The result? A fortified roof that doesn’t just delay replacement—it makes it unnecessary. Read more about the difference between Liqua-Roof and other roof treatments.
Yes! Liqua-Roof significantly enhances impact resistance by layering granules and a proprietary blend of solids, all bonded with our advanced resin formula. This system increases impact resistance by over 300% compared to uncoated shingles.
It can— by using solar reflective roofing granules in the mixture, which we can do but comes at a premium cost compared to standard granules.
